Great show and great food. We had the steak, chicken and scallops. The staff was very attentive and professional. Great place to go with friends. The only negative was the bar. I ordered a Manhattan and it tastes very watered down.
We really enjoyed our meal here. Our chef was impressive, he's been juggling since he was a kid and raised by clowns. So he really put on a performance. The food was amazing! Had sushi... Tuna, surf clam, sweet shrimp, squid and eel... All good, fresh and tasty with a seaweed salad and some. The service was very good and delightful, and the company was good.It was a nice afternoon.I enjoyed myself thoroughly. This is like one of the few places in the area that I can say... Count on some things that I really enjoy, like surf clam.
I started eating at Umi Japanese steakhouse from the day they opened which was a long time ago and every meal I've had there has been great. One thing that has changed over time is that you get more today for your money then you got in the beginning. Even the lunch specials gives you an extraordinary amount of food on your plate to eat and the quality is absolutely five. (5) star.
If I could give 10 Stars I would. The atmosphere is very inviting and cozy. Practice social distancing. Masks preferred and all staff wore them. The food was outstanding.. the service was just as good. I wish I could remember our servers name because she was great!!! Highly recommended for an awesome date night or really any occasion. Food was very fresh and made perfectly. We finished almost every bite. Enjoy y'all. It's worth every penny

Came into Umi for some vegetarian sushi options while traveling to Florence on assignment with Homes.com. Got veggie roll, asparagus roll and vegetable tempura, with Asahi beer 30 which included a 20% tip. Was blown away by the veggie roll with seaweed salad mixed in, loved it! The vegetable tempura was so good as well, crisp and good variety of veggies. A cold Asahi beer topped this great meal off. All the sushi chefs and waiters were so kind and nice, sat at the bar to chat with the sushi chef. A must visit in this area of Florence where everything is a chain. Support local!
